The Middle-Light.

I am grateful for the anchor point he offers,

You know?

All too often,

I find myself trying to be more impressive than I am.

But then, after a little time,

with a much gentler tug on my hand,

Than the tug I would give myself

He draws me back to the middle.

Tells me it’s okay to drop the act,

To step into the light,

unmasked.

With all that I am not,

As well as all that I am.

That this God-light

is also GRACE-light.

And in the light,

he calls me to trust

him

With all of

me.

“You’re blessed when you’re content with just who you are—no more, no less. That’s the moment you find yourselves proud owners of everything that can’t be bought.” Matt 5:5 MSG

All too often,

I find myself hiding what it is that I have to offer in the shadows.

But then,

After a little time,

With a gentle tug on my hand,

He calls me out towards the middle.

Says its ok to step into the light

With all of the good that I am,

as well as the bad,

That dwelling in this God-light

is as much for revealing who I am,

As well as who I am not.

Here he calls me to trust

him

with who I am in the light

as well as in the dark.

“Here’s another way to put it: You’re here to be light, bringing out the God-colors in the world. God is not a secret to be kept. We’re going public with this, as public as a city on a hill. If I make you light-bearers, you don’t think I’m going to hide you under a bucket, do you?” Matt 5:14-16 MSG
