The table I had waiting.

I couldn’t care less

if what you say

doesn’t come out as precisely as you wished

Or if you don’t hold as much knowledge

about that thing that you thought you should.

I couldn’t care less if the way you do

what you do

Fails to meet some standard

of him

or her

or that.

I am well aware

you are more than the words I haven’t yet heard.

More than the knowledge or skills I have yet to see.

I of all,

am the one who would know that

most.

But I think its in these moments –

where you realised I was watching you

Make a mistake

Falter

Fail.

That our paths seem to mysteriously cross with more ease

Where you accidentally see me

Looking at you

and you hadn’t quite managed

to cover your face

with your beloved mask in time.

I kind of like it

when that happens.

It’s kind of messy,

But it’s one of the spaces

I feel like we get to meet

Spirit to spirit.

I think

It’s in those moments

That I feel like I get to see

You.

And these moments

make me feel like

you’ve come home,

and actually

allowed yourself

to sit

at the table

I already had waiting.

how good God is.
Blessed are you who run to him”
