“Answer this question: Does the God who lavishly provides you with his own presence, his Holy Spirit, working things in your lives you could never do for yourselves, does he do these things because of your strenuous moral striving or because you trust him to do them in you?” Gal 3: 5-6 MSG. //
Freedom is found in letting go of how right or wrong we think we are, and by setting our sights in faith upon the grace made known through Jesus.
Did we forget for a moment, we aren’t God, and our trying hard to be him is going to hurt and tire our human souls?
We draw on his strength because ours falters. We come to him who is certain about us, because we aren’t certain about us. We come to him when things are crumbling, because it is he that is God, not us.
Something in us is drawn to him when we face the darkness; because we aren’t God – he is.
Feeling limited or even ashamed in what little you have to offer right now? That’s ok, because we are human – this is no surprise to him. Instead – invite him in as God and let him do his work, and… let me know what he does or has done for you in these scary stepping out of the boat spaces….
It is these broken moments, where we can surrender our humanness and welcome his divinity that his love and grace is actually offered the chance; the chance to move in and bring life where it’s fighting for breath.
