I think we’re meant to hold on to hope so that we keep living.
To let go of hope means to let go of living. Moving. To let go of hope, I think, means to grab hold of something else, something that is the opposite of life offering.
We don’t hold on to hope because theres always certainty in whatever it is we want to happen, happening, rather we hold on to hope BECAUSE things are uncertain. mysterious. Sometimes terribly painful.
Hope is the heart that beats through the uncertainty, through the pain – with a sure purpose. It stands and beats so that we can keep LIVING, moving, breathing in the moments that we find ourselves – be they wonderful or heart breaking.
Hope is stamina, energy, freedom that leads and beckons us towards the next thing. Keep hoping. Hope is who and what carries us to the light, should we find that light has flickered out upon arrival – it always, always knows the way to another…
“Christ has set us free to live a free life. So take your stand! Never again let anyone put a harness of slavery on you.” Galatians 5:1
